I first found out about Sjay from an insta story that a good friend of mine shared, and like most of his music recs…it was awesome!!

When I first heard “Cardio”, I loved it because it was musical, and the lyrics weren’t crude. I don’t listen to a lot of modern hip hop/rap because most of it isn’t musical and the lyrics always seem very graphic. After hearing Sjay’s work, I actually want to check out more hip hop and see if my feelings are different.

“Cardio” is so good though. The sounds going on in the background and the delivery of his words is excellent.

Sjay is one of the many examples of unique creators carving their own paths, and he proves that it’s time to start paying attention to the new school.

The thing is…Sjay isn’t part of the new school. He is the new school, and it’s all because he has redefined the genre by finding a perfect balance of content, flow and delivery.

The future looks bright, and I can’t wait to see what Sjay does next!
