I first out about Axe one day when I was going through my dad’s cassette collection, and I stumbled onto a copy of “Nemesis”.
I always remember finding it really interesting, and just being genuinely astounded that I had never really heard of them before.
I listened to that album exclusively until I decided that I wanted to preserve the original tape.
I started a search on vinyl for it, and I managed to find a sealed copy on eBay for a really good price!!
As time passed, I started getting all of their albums, which are all really rare.
Axe is an interesting band to search for on vinyl because I don’t believe I’ve ever seen any of the Axe albums more than once.
It’s crazy how scarce stuff can be, but it depends on who’s collection it comes from.
I got lucky in finding most of my Axe albums physically for a few bucks each and as either promos or sealed copies!
So, to dive into my enthusiasm on Axe…they are excellent! There’s something about them where they fit into the era, but there’s this originality that you don’t hear in other rock bands of that time period.
“Nemesis” is one of my special albums where I have to listen to it full. I can never listen to just one song from it.
I associate it to a number of times in my life, so it’s got a lot of sentimental value.
So, as always, I’ve made a special playlist to showcase my favorites by Axe, so give it a listen and pass it on.
