I first found out about Maroon 5 when I was little. The earliest memory I have of them is seeing the music video for “This Love” countless times during my childhood.
I always remembered hearing that song growing up, and I always listened to them, but I knew it was serious when “Hands All Over” was released because that album became all I listened to.
I was in 6th grade when that album was released, and it was during my days of doing online school.
It was a time of transition from public school to online school, and it really allowed me to have the time to really find the music I connected to, and once I had the right time to really explore, I discovered all the bands I truly loved.
This ranged from Maroon 5 to Red Hot Chili Peppers to Queen to Foo Fighters to Neon Trees to The Hives and many more.
I’m not insanely into the genre of pop rock, but I’ve always loved Maroon 5 because of seeing them at such an early age.
It always stuck with me and they’ll always be one of my favorites.
Their catalog is really interesting because from Songs About Jane to Red Pill Blues, there’s so many different styles of Maroon 5 songs and albums.
If I had to pick a favorite, “Hands All Over” would win, but I’m always torn between that one “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long”.
“V” is another favorite of mine, but I had a similar relationship with “Pop Psychology” by Neon Trees, where I had a love/hate relationship with it and then I found it again and I felt differently.
I guess it was just the time period and how I was feeling back then. I first got into record collecting, seriously, in 2014, so I was on a different wavelength for a while.
But, I have a system with music. I have my record collection, my dad’s CD and record collection, and my offline music/photos exclusive Blackberry.
I listen to a majority of newer stuff, and childhood favorites when I’m working on stuff for college and my music blog as well, which is why some of you may not always see me on Spotify (for those who look at what their friends listen to), since I mainly use Spotify for blog stuff and to check out new stuff that isn’t on my phone yet.
Anyways, here’s my history with Maroon 5, and here’s a playlist of my favorites!
