The Songs You Need To Hear
Check out some great tunes!!

Lime Spiders are an Australian punk rock band formed in 1979 by Mick Blood.

He was eventually joined by Tony Bambach, Gerard Corben, Tom Corben, and David Sparks.

Their earliest releases include “25th Hour”, “Slave Girl” and “Out Of Control”, which were released as singles, from 1983 to 1985.

In February 1987, their debut album, “The Cave Comes Alive!” was released on Virgin Records. It included tunes like “My Favourite Room”, “Action Woman”, and “Just One Solution” to name a few.

In May 1988, their second album, “Volatile” was released. It didn’t have the same commercial or critcal acceptance that their debut did.

In October 1990, their third album, “Beethoven’s Fist” was released. This was another album that became obscured, which I find ridiculous because this was another amazing album for the time it came from.

I find this information about “Volatile” astounding to be entirely honest, because  has so many cool sounds and every song is awesome. It has this awesome vibe of punk and alternative. I’m not saying that only because it was the album that got me obsessed with the Lime Spiders, but decent is a harsh term, because it is a simply awesome album.

Music critics do confuse me, I’ll be honest. It’s a questionable concept because we read other people’s complimentary reviews, and also their scathing reviews.

This affects people’s perspective, because we’re reading what someone else thinks before we can even develop our own thoughts on it.

We don’t need to eliminate the critics, but you’re better off creating your own opinion before you read the reviews. This way, you have your own opinion, instead of something developed off of someone else’s thoughts.

Don’t let someone else’s thoughts give you your perspective. You have your own perspective, your own mind. Don’t overlook that.

Lime Spiders are one of the many truly great bands that are crazily overlooked. I have a magic power of finding all these bands and one point or another.

So, here’s this week’s “Under The Radar” showcase. As always, there’s a little playlist so you have an audio companion while you read my showcase!
